Description
The Swing Commandos move seamlessly from Swing, Standards, Jazz, Country, 50’s Rock and more.
Steve Blake was an original member of “Dickie Doo & the Don'ts". In 1958 their tune, “Click Clack,” was the number 28 billboard hit in the USA. Steve plays bass, guitar, and handles most of the vocals.
Joe Ricciardi is an extraordinary guitarist who plays in the style of the great Chet Atkins. Joe was recently inducted into the Connecticut Country Music Hall of Fame.
Bill Petkanas plays guitar and mandolin with an occasional vocal thrown in for good measure.
Ed Schaffer’s 40 year musical background began as a guitarist in a rock band during his undergraduate studies at Cornell University in NY. His transition to the mandolin led him to embrace swing, bluegrass, and jazz.
Scott Hershman is a classically trained bassist. His intuitive mind and talent provide the “bottom” for the band.
The most recent addition to the band is Guy “Fooch” Fuchetti. Fooch plays violin and slide steel. His classical touch and fine bowing round off the special style of the Swing Commandos.
We are all delighted to be at the Aerodome.

The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is now featuring a music program before it's world famous airshow! Come hear pre-1940's music and see flying pre-1930's aircraft! The music starts at 11:30 am and the airshow begins at 2 pm!
The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is a true "living" museum of antique aviation located in Rhinebeck, New York. We present one of the largest collections of early aeroplanes in the world, many of which regularly take to the air in all their glory during our weekend airshows. The Aerodrome features aeroplanes, automobiles, motorcycles, early engines and memorabilia from 1900-1935. In addition to the airshows, there are four museum buildings displaying aircraft form the Pioneer Era, World War I and the Lindbergh/Barnstorming era. These were the golden years of aviation.
