Last night, Too Blue, a Member Band of the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association, delighted the very first audience at the inaugaral HVBA Showcase Series held at Christ Church in Poughkeepsie. The evening began with an open jam and it
was so great to see new faces in the circle!
If you've ever been to a venue to hear one of your favorite bands and strained to listen to the music over the din of clattering plates and noisy chatterers around you, then THIS is the series to attend. The only sounds were the beautiful harmonies sung by Joan Harrison and Betsy Rome and the unbelievably talented musical partnership of Michael Sassano and Kalia Yeagle. Holding it all together with impeccable timing and awesome breaks and walking bass, was Jamie Doris.
The Showcase Series will return next month on February 24th with No Brakes. You just have to be there!!!
Thanks go out to Marc Berman for coordinating this event and handling all of the details. Thanks, too, to Dave Angell, who was the emcee and our deepest thanks go to Too Blue for (once again) being there for the HVBA.
Photos are now on the website. Please check back here in a few days for a link to the video of the evening.
