| Welcome to New Members |
| It's always great to welcome new members to the HVBA. Jake Dewhirst, who many of you may remember is a West Point Cadet and a champion guitar picker, has joined the HVBA. Jake and his band, The Bluegrass Regulators, recently performed at the IBMA Awards. I think you'll want to take a look at these videos taken at the IBMA Showcase. Video #1, Video #2, & Video #3. In addition to Jake, Alan Block of Seaford, NY and John Polinsky from Suffern, NY have also joined the HVBA and we say....WELCOME! |

| Our Website |
The visits to our website have been steadily growing and now attract people from all over the country. It's the first stop that people make when they are looking to hire a bluegrass band for their events or for those looking to find out more about bluegrass in the Mid-Hudson Valley.
Janice MacDaniels has recently joined the team effort to keep the website interesting and informative. Janice will be joining Doug Mathewson as a co-editor of the website and we look forward to these two talented people bringing the best of local bluegrass news to you.
Read all reviews here.
Mark Hudson has written two reviews for us; the first is of Live At The Down Home CD by NewFound Road and his second review is the self-titled album, Katie Wilson.
Janice MacDaniels has written her first CD review for us (and maybe her firt ever) but, when you read it, you will be asking for more from her. The CD Janice reviewed is Blue Highway's Sounds of Home.
And while you are at the Reviews Tab, be sure to read Jerry Oland's take on Grasstowne's newest CD, Kickin' Up Dust and Steve Brandt's review of A Skaggs Family Christmas Vol.2 Thanks to all who volunteered to review the CDs for the HVBA and thanks to the people who have recently completed their reviews!! |

From Fred Robbins
Hi Folks,
As usual, after I thought I'd found them all, I "discovered" 2 more cassettes. Actually, one was already digitized and the other was in a stack right next to the computer. What great organization!
Anyway, here are two recordings of Peter Rowan and Tex Logan from the 1979 Berkshire Mountains Bluegrass Festival. Lamar Grier is on banjo, and his son David comes up for one number in Set 1.
I don't remember who was on bass and I'm guessing Barry Mitterhoff was on mandolin, but I'm sure someone will let me know.
Set 1: Rowan-Logan-Berkshire 1979
Set 2: Berkshire '79 - Rowan & Logan
As always, the links are available on my Picking Page
Enjoy!
