| Open Jam This Week |
| This Wednesday will be an open jam at The Brown Derby. The song for the week is Wheel Hoss. See you there at 6pm. |
|
| Arlington Street Fair |
The Bill Monroe Centennial Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 24th as part of the annual Arlington Street Fair. The HVBA has SIX Member Bands and a young duo (Eric Rosi-Marshall's daughters) who have expressed an interest in playing that afternoon and honoring Bill Monroe.
- Mama Tried
- Grass Fed
- Buffalo Gals
- Too Blue
- Wickers Creek
- Two Dollar Goat
- Hudson Crossing
We will soon be posting the band schedule on our website, on the Events Tab, and in the next email. The Arilington Street Fair will run from 12 - 5pm and the HVBA will have a dedicated "park" area with a stage and available seating. So be sure to mark your calendars and come on out to hear the salute to Bill Monroe.
In addition to the music, we will have one of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys with us for the afternoon. Gene Lowinger, who played fiddle for Bill, will be there with his book of photographs of Bill Monroe, "I Hear A Voice Calling." Gene will be around all afternoon to talk to you about Bill and to sign copies of his book. |

| New Member Band |
| It's always a joy to introduce a new Member Band and we heartily welcome Two Dollar Goat to the HVBA. |
|
| Our Website |
| Red Dirt Road is the Member Band spotlighted on our website now. Be sure to take the time to read the interview with Doug Mathewson. We will be devoting an article to each Member Band for the next few months as a way for our members to get to know who is playing out there! |
