| Are You An HVBA Member? |
The Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association is working hard to bring the best bluegrass to our area. In the past twelve months, and looking backwards, the HVBA has sponsored the following events: a concert with The Tony Rice Unit, a guitar workshop with Josh Williams, concerts with The Old Time Bluegrass Singers, The Gibson Brothers, The Claire Lynch Band, The Josh Williams Band, Special Consensus in concert and at the Oakwood Friends School, Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice, and Byron Berline and Gold Rush. In addition, we hosted a jam at West Point and arranged a Membership Appreciation Day. Add to all of that our bi-monthly jams at The Brown Derby and you have a pretty impressive roster of bluegrass events.
All of this takes a great deal of work on the part of our members, but we also are counting on YOU. If you are not a current member and you enjoy our newsletters and concerts, visit our website or come to our events, we urge you to join the HVBA. A mere $15.00 will buy a membership for your entire household and will entitle you to membership discounts on all events. More importantly, we need your support. Please take a few minutes to visit our website and click on the red button, the one that says "Join or Renew Membership" at the upper left of the page.
If you would rather pay by check, contact us for details and we will tell you how to do that. |

From Fred Robbins:
Folks,
I moved the Byron Berline & Gold Rush videos from my website to YouTube for better quality and faster streaming.
Last summer, Byron came to Poughkeepsie, NY, at my request, and with the hard work of the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association, gathered some great local musicians for a concert.
The video was shot by Steve Jacobi. See it here
Enjoy,
Fred
And even more from Fred. Hey, you all, Fred should be your inspiration to share your thoughts with us more often!
Folks,
I've just added some more great music to the Landreth Collection's Camp Springs 1969:
The Stanley Brothers Story; Emerson, Waldron & the Lee Highway Boys;
Curtis Blackwell, Randall Collins & the Dixie Bluegrass Boys with Al Osteen;
and the completed Carlton Haney's "The Bluegrass Story".
It's all right here
Thanks again to Ken Landreth, who's doing all the work late at night: digitizing and "sweetening" the audio, writing the performer and song lists, then uploading to me. |
